Grand Performances Series This wildly eclectic performance art/world music series features acts from Egypt, Africa, Mexico, Iran and Armenia (just to name a few) but also draws on the best of Los Angeles' own talent. Our top picks include Diavolo Dance Theater (Thursday and Friday), Los Angeles Electric 8 (July 15), and Exene and Phranc (Aug. 20). See website for full schedule. California Plaza, 300-350 S. Grand Ave. Ongoing through September, various times. Free. http://www.grandperformances.org.
